It’s Not Easy Being An Introvert

I don’t need a special questionnaire to tell me that I’m an introvert.

When I was a child I was called shy which led to me rapidly hating the word and the people who used it to label my behaviour. Despite attempts to put a more positive spin on introversion (Susan Cain makes a valiant effort to support folks like me in her bestselling book Quiet), I think people still see the quiet ones as A) a bit weird, and B) in need of help. What I mean by help is the insistence that introversion is some kind of psychopathology that can be treated, much like depression or anxiety.
